By now, you are likely aware that on May 25, 2018, a new data privacy law introduced in Europe called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force, impacting how travel agencies collect and process data.
GDPR systematize data privacy laws across Europe, strengthens EU citizens’ data privacy and reshapes the way organizations across the region approach data privacy. GDPR also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. Thus, it also applies to organizations located outside of the EU that offer goods or services to EU citizens. All travel agencies processing and holding personal data of EU citizens, regardless of location, are subject to GDPR law.
For this scope, in the last couple of months, our efforts had been focused in assuring to have our applications TINA 3 , IRIX and AIDA, GDPR compliant in collecting and storing data.
